HAIKUS
Haiku are short poems consisting of the same build through all which is the “5 7 5” rule. The opening line of a haiku is five syllables, the next seven, and the next five. Haikus for me are usually like little breaths of fresh air. Because of them being so short it almost kind of stops and slows you down to think about what further meanings can be drawn from such a short phrase.
These are some original haikus I made
“Restless”
I wake in the day
and sleep into the night time
tossing and turning
“The Great Wave”
The wave comes to me
and then the wave leaves from me
here it is again
“Future Things”
My past yearns for me
while my present sits waiting
will tomorrow come?
“Love”
This love knows no bounds
no distance it wouldn’t cross
this love knows no bounds
“Sleepy Time”
Weighty eyes and tea
Silk linen I can’t leave
blissful as I go
“ Legion”
Clouds pass showing stars
how we are one of many
like grains in the sand
“Morning Mist”
In a foggy place
the water slides down back side
rejuvenating
“Weekend”
Over the horizon
I see it shining on me
that time wrapped in gold
“Heartache”
Why does the heart long
something unattainable
distance in between
“Busy Bee”
Four to five full days
weekly it never seems to stop
Lots of here and there
“Patience”
I’m waiting for you
and I’m still waiting for you
forever I’d wait
